This Picture is before my accident. Lemme kinda explain what happened to me on April 12th 1998 (Easter Sunday). Well I was playing with one of my friends his name is Matthew. He wanted to have a weenie roast so I said "Ok", boy if i knew what I was in for I probablly would have said no! Well anyway, we went to his house to get the hotdogs and he decided to grab a 2 liter bottle full of gasoline.....BIG MISTAKE! I told him that we really did'nt need it to have a weenie roast but he said "I won't be your friend if you dont let me bring it". So my responce was "ok whatever! Well to make a long story short... we had our weenie roast and he decided to play a dangerous game called ..FIRE SWORDS.. what-ever that is i never relly found out! But I do remember him saying that the fire wasnt large enough and so what he did was threw the whole 2 liter onto the fire which exploded onto me. I tried to stop,drop,and roll but because the gas was on me I couldnt put out the fire. Then by chance I fell into the St.Johns River....some people here say I'm lucky that I dont glow green from falling into this river. Hehe I find that kinda funny! Well I was lifeflighted to Shand's in Gainsville Florida where they tried to keep me stable, but it was'nt working very well. They told my Mom that she had to find a place that could take care of me better, because they did'nt know how to. So my Mom called Dad and Dad called the Shrinners who came right away and took me to their Hospital in Cincinnatti Ohio. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

As you can see I look terrible. I was on life support because I could'nt breath on my own for a long time. I was burned over 45%of my body those areas were my face, back, chest, and both arms. The whole right side of my body was burnt to the muscle and I lost my right ear. The tips of my fingers on my right hand got burnt to the bone. So on that hand I have olny parts of my fingers. My thumb got it the worst I think cause there's olny half of it left. While at the Shrinners Hospital I recieved 8 surgeries and 33 blood transfusions.They used all of the skin on my legs to cover my chest,and arms. Which made more ouies on me... Well anyway, the Docters and Nurses there kept me alive and I'm very thankful for that! | |||||||||||||||||||||||

I went through alot of physical therapy when I was there and boy did it ever hurt. The normal movements that we all take for granted I could'nt do. You know like writing and moving my arms and legs. I have come along way and still hae a long road to total recovery. I still dont have use of my right hand, which is hard for me because I am a righty! I've had to learn to use my left hand to write in school. I used to get A's and B's in school but now I only get C's.... I think that's because I'm real slow writing. I expect to have another surgery about May or June this year. They want to work on my right hand some more because of the limited movement I have with it. I'm scared! I dont like to go to surgery ....it hurts, | but I know it's to make me better.
